Pantone Color Report Spring 2015- Product Recommendations! Part 1


Here's Pantone's colour report for Spring 2015! I'm very excited. I love these colours, especially how they look together. Today I'm going to recommend some products, both drugstore and higher-end, that you can use to show you're hip to this season's trends!

Aquamarine

While this colour isn't my favourite, it's certainly sophisticated while still being a little whimsical. It also makes a bolder pair with some of the other colours in the Trend Report.

My Pick: Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour in Ice (silvery blue)

Impart an otherwordly glistening wash of colour to your eyelids!

Scuba Blue

Oh, man. I was obsessed with Scuba Blue about two years ago, so I'm actually glad, if slightly mortified, to dig out all my makeup of this shade.

My Pick: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Pool Boy


It's a perfect colour match and stays on the waterline really well for an unexpected pop of colour!

Lucite Green

Ah, a colour after my own heart.

My Pick: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid in Turquoise


I have this and it's not too loud, more of a soft whisper of fairy-like colour. It's opaque, though, which is super impressive.

Classic Blue

Standard, classy and beautiful. Plus it makes my eyes stand out!

My Pick: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Colour Concentrate in Melody

I'd use this as a base for a more muted powder shadow!

Toasted Almond

I'm excited to break out my skirts in this colour. It's definitely more wearable in a makeup context, but also sort of traditional.

My Pick: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude


Use this as a brightening pop on the inner corners of your eyes or your waterline- or as a statement wing if you're darker-toned.

    I'm loving all these colours! For now I only have fun with colours on my nails, but I hope to get back in to makeup once I go back to work in May... if I have time to do my makeup in the morning since I'll have to get mini-me ready for daycare. :-)

Review: Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon

Hey guys, long time no post! I'm here today to review the new Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. This is an interesting product for sure- one of the many new and exciting things Maybelline has put out for us this spring. The crayon is a short, chubby pencil that is supposed to be a brow pomade in crayon form. There are obviously drawbacks to this design- while it's a cool concept, frankly, the thing is huge. Maybelline definitely should have gone with something a lot less thick. I got the shade Dark Brown, I believe. As you can see, while the product is sharp now, it doesn't take much to run it down and I fear for the day this becomes too nubby to use (I've been using it on an angle so far). The formula, however, is pretty gorgeous. It's soft and emollient, but amazingly pigmented. It gives a soft effect rather than a harsh line. Here are my brows with no product in them. May Favourites 2016!

May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here! First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Makeup Geek's matte shadows in Chickadee (left) and Cocoa Bear (right) are deserving of all the hype they get. They pair together perfectly to create a warm crease. I'd never actually owned a warm medium brown eyeshadow before this, and let me just say- where have I been?! I've been wearing them all month and the only complaint I have is that now I'm in a bit of an eyeshadow rut because I don't want to wear anything else! Here's them both in my crease with Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in Center Stage on the lid. Products I've Hit Pan On!

Whenever I look back on my instagram to see which posts were the most popular, it's always the posts featuring products I've #hitpan on. The panning community in general is awesome, so I figured I'd do a post showing all the products in my collection that currently have some pan going on! And I'm sure I'll have another post like this soon, because I have so many products, particularly eyeshadows, that are soooo close to hitting pan. Anyways- let's get into the good stuff! First up is this Too Faced Jingle All the Way "phone palette" that I've had for ages. It was my first foray into high-end eyeshadow- picked up for a measly 15 bucks when I went on vacation to Washington, D.C.
