Pantone Colour Report Spring 2015- Product Recommendations! Part 2


Welcome to Part 2 of my product recommendations for the Spring 2015 trend report by Pantone! These colours are mostly used for fashion and interior design but I'm going to show you how to incorporate them onto your face as well! I think everyone deserves to have fun with colour.

Strawberry Ice

I'm a fan! This is a very approachable shade of pink.

My Pick: NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Narcissus

I think this would pair best with a bright eye colour!

Or, alternatively... 

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Strawberry Macaroon

If you prefer to wear your pink on your eyes!

Tangerine

This colour swatch actually looks a little washed-out compared to what I was thinking! 

My Pick: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Fierce & Tangy

I like to wear this intensely-pigment-packed cream shadow as a liner under my eyes, or a base for shadows of similar colours!

Custard 


I love yellow, but I'm more interested in wearing this colour in clothing than in makeup (thinking a statement bag or pair of patent mary-jane heels!) Nonetheless...

My Pick: Ciate Loop The Loop
Loop the Loop
Yeah... not my favourite, but not too offensive either. This would look cool in a negative-space manicure (also on trend for Spring 2015).

Marsala

Ah, Marsala, the 2015 colour of the year. I've really warmed up to this red-brown and I've got a few picks for it because of its wearablility.

Color Sensational® The Buffs
This is a recent purchase for me. It's matte and longwearing, and definitely the most "Marsala" shade that the drugstore has to offer at the mo'.

Make Up For Ever HD Blush in Rosewood

I'm in love with this formula. If I had to pick one flattering blush to wear for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Marsala Metalshine Liquid Liner 

I have the LE Emerald one from a few years back and it's amazing. It's not a secret how much I am lusting over this eyeliner.

Glacier Gray

I so want to buy a jacket in this colour so I can wear neon shirts underneath, and maybe now my grey jeans can come back out of the back of my closet. But for makeup, I'm really not sure...

My Pick: Stila Smudge Stick in Triggerfish


I feel like this could impart an edgy quality to a look, but I'm still not very hyped about it, haha!

Review: Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon

Hey guys, long time no post! I'm here today to review the new Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. This is an interesting product for sure- one of the many new and exciting things Maybelline has put out for us this spring. The crayon is a short, chubby pencil that is supposed to be a brow pomade in crayon form. There are obviously drawbacks to this design- while it's a cool concept, frankly, the thing is huge. Maybelline definitely should have gone with something a lot less thick. I got the shade Dark Brown, I believe. As you can see, while the product is sharp now, it doesn't take much to run it down and I fear for the day this becomes too nubby to use (I've been using it on an angle so far). The formula, however, is pretty gorgeous. It's soft and emollient, but amazingly pigmented. It gives a soft effect rather than a harsh line. Here are my brows with no product in them. May Favourites 2016!

May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here! First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Makeup Geek's matte shadows in Chickadee (left) and Cocoa Bear (right) are deserving of all the hype they get. They pair together perfectly to create a warm crease. I'd never actually owned a warm medium brown eyeshadow before this, and let me just say- where have I been?! I've been wearing them all month and the only complaint I have is that now I'm in a bit of an eyeshadow rut because I don't want to wear anything else! Here's them both in my crease with Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in Center Stage on the lid. Products I've Hit Pan On!

Whenever I look back on my instagram to see which posts were the most popular, it's always the posts featuring products I've #hitpan on. The panning community in general is awesome, so I figured I'd do a post showing all the products in my collection that currently have some pan going on! And I'm sure I'll have another post like this soon, because I have so many products, particularly eyeshadows, that are soooo close to hitting pan. Anyways- let's get into the good stuff! First up is this Too Faced Jingle All the Way "phone palette" that I've had for ages. It was my first foray into high-end eyeshadow- picked up for a measly 15 bucks when I went on vacation to Washington, D.C. I believe it was part of a holiday collection, and I grabbed it out of the sale bin the following spring.
