Review: Rimmel Apocalips in Stellar

Life is full of second chances. I was feeling particularly generous one day, and decided to go through my "didn't work for me" basket and pick out a few things that I didn't really give a fair shot the first time around. One of those products was this Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer (or Apocalips) in Stellar. I think I didn't like it the first time around because of how milky it was on my lips. Here is its second shot!


First off, its packaging is beautiful. I love the cap with its rock-candy appearance, and the ombre that shows off the colour of the product.


It comes with a mostly-standard doe-foot applicator. It has a divot in the center and it's pretty stiff, not soft.


Stellar is a gorgeous, opaque lacquer in a neon watermelon colour. The applicator allows for precise lines, and it takes 4 or 5 passes to get even coverage. The lacquer smells like watermelon jolly ranchers, but the scent dissipates after about 30 minutes.


This is not a liquid lipstick. It stays, though, no fading. If you touch something with your lip, it will transfer, so be careful- but the lacquer will stain your lips so nobody will really notice by the time you've reapplied. After about three hours it dries down to the point where it's not glossy anymore and looks more like a lipstick. It will still transfer a bit, though.


The longest I've worn it is five hours, at which point I had to wipe it off to go to bed. At that point I wasn't experiencing any transferring. The lasting power was very impressive! It's a nice product and now I'm actually thinking of picking up more.

Hey guys, long time no post! I'm here today to review the new Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. This is an interesting product for sure- one of the many new and exciting things Maybelline has put out for us this spring. The crayon is a short, chubby pencil that is supposed to be a brow pomade in crayon form. There are obviously drawbacks to this design- while it's a cool concept, frankly, the thing is huge. Maybelline definitely should have gone with something a lot less thick. I got the shade Dark Brown, I believe. As you can see, while the product is sharp now, it doesn't take much to run it down and I fear for the day this becomes too nubby to use (I've been using it on an angle so far). The formula, however, is pretty gorgeous. It's soft and emollient, but amazingly pigmented. It gives a soft effect rather than a harsh line. Here are my brows with no product in them. May Favourites 2016!

May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here! First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Makeup Geek's matte shadows in Chickadee (left) and Cocoa Bear (right) are deserving of all the hype they get. They pair together perfectly to create a warm crease. I'd never actually owned a warm medium brown eyeshadow before this, and let me just say- where have I been?! I've been wearing them all month and the only complaint I have is that now I'm in a bit of an eyeshadow rut because I don't want to wear anything else! Here's them both in my crease with Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in Center Stage on the lid. Products I've Hit Pan On!

Whenever I look back on my instagram to see which posts were the most popular, it's always the posts featuring products I've #hitpan on. The panning community in general is awesome, so I figured I'd do a post showing all the products in my collection that currently have some pan going on! And I'm sure I'll have another post like this soon, because I have so many products, particularly eyeshadows, that are soooo close to hitting pan. Anyways- let's get into the good stuff! First up is this Too Faced Jingle All the Way "phone palette" that I've had for ages.
