Series of Looks: Eurovision-Inspired Part II

Image
People seem to really like my Eurovision-inspired looks, so here's another batch! Austria 2016: Loin D'ici by Zoe This is one of my favourite songs from this year's selection, which has a lot to do with the aesthetic that both the song and the video evoke. It reminds me of fairy princesses! For this look, I used mostly my Urban Decay Electric palette- Savage and Jilted in the crease, Urban on the outer corner and Revolt on the lid. I then used Colourpop's Piggy Bank Creme Gel liner for my wing and waterline. I used a very bubblegum-pink blush- essence Pinky Flow- and a combination of OCC lip tars in Iced (frosty white), Hoochie (magenta purple) and NSFW (true red) on the lips. Russia 2016- You Are The Only One by Sergey Lazarev My absolute favourite song this year! This is more of a fun look- I used the colours in the music video for inspiration. For the eyes, I used Fran, Destroyer and Analogue from the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix palette in the crease,

March 2016 Empties!

It honestly felt like I ran through a lot of stuff this month, but honestly, it probably only seemed that way because I was running out of things I didn't have replacements for (and sometimes couldn't afford to replace). Here's the products I used up this month! Herbal Essences Tea-Lightfully Clean Shampoo: I would repurchase this! I used it as my second shampoo- first I use Head & Shoulders, and then I would use this as a way to clean my hair and get all of the residue from the first shampoo out. This shampoo was a thinner, waterier consistency than most, and I found that the tea tree oil helped reduce my shoulder acne. Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer: I'm so sad I ran out of this! This is my holy grail eyeliner for the waterline and I can't afford to replace it right now. I will repurchase it when I get the chance, though. Annabelle Stay Sharp Retractable Eyebrow Pencil: This was a very nice eyebrow pencil, soft and a great shade, but it only last

March Favourites 2016!

March is over, and now finals begin for me! I didn't wear much makeup this past month- depression hit me hard- but here's what I found myself reaching for a lot over the past month. First, the Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Piggy Bank- this stuff is amazing. I have a full review forthcoming, so I'll try to be short, but this liner is the most gorgeous, pigmented eyeliner I've ever tried and it stayed OVER 24 HOURS (I was having a marathon, don't judge) on the waterline! Next, I've been grabbing the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Telepathy more often than not. It's basically my favourite eyeshadow (Fortune Teller by Makeup Geek) except more metallic and in cream form. Love this. Then, a mascara- the Givenchy Phenomeneyes was my OG favourite mascara and I finally scored another GWP of it. It makes my lashes so long and the unique ball brush captures every lash! Under the mascara, I've been wearing the Urban Decay Subversion lash primer. This stuff

My Top 5 Pink Lippies for Spring!

Image
So, here's the thing. I love pink lipstick, but we took a break over the fall and winter. I was trying new things- nudes, browns, navies- but now that it's spring, me and my pink lippies are back, and we're going strong. Here are my favourite five pink lip picks for this spring! I've got a mix of glosses, balms, traditional and liquid lipsticks. (L-R: essence Show Off, NYX Life's a Beach, Revlon HD Flirt, LORAC Girl Next Door, H&M Sweet Pea) Here are the swatches! We've got all shades of pink here. Make no mistakes, this 'liquid lipstick' by essence is anything but- it's a highly pigmented, very sticky lipgloss. While I was expecting a more traditional liquid lipstick, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I love this product! I never know how to describe this shade of pink- it's like the outside of a dragonfruit, I guess? LOL. This gloss has great staying power and the stickiness doesn't bother me- if you've ever tried
